Stay curious but don’t break script

Those pesky algorithms are against me. They’ve conspired to make me disappear.

What happens in another five or ten years when the algorithms have at their disposal all the info the tech giants have been collecting on us for years, when they require no human input nor even need to be pointed in our direction, and they start making their own decisions about who’s flouting the script and shouting their mouth off, and who needs to vanish from the public record? Hell, maybe we’re there already. Maybe the guys at Medium don’t give two shits what I write. Maybe it’s the algorithms calling the shots.

I was a naughty fellow. My crime? I wrote an article on the invasion of Ukraine that was not Russophobic enough. I refrained from calling Putin the next Hitler. I neglected to speak of Zelensky in appropriately glowing terms. I called out the Western political establishment. And for that, shadow-banning.

This is what shills get. This is the deserved desserts for Putin apologists and KGB agents. Embrace the silence and learn to love it.
