The reason for the blanket media coverage has always been clear to me, Daniel. And I'm disgusted by it. The crocodile tears being shed for the well-being of the Ukrainians are merely a thin disguise for the drumming up of war hysteria against Russia. No, I have zero faith in the media and have not had for a long time, and every minute of news I watch only reinforces that opinion.

The concern for human life and wellbeing is not restricted by colour, creed or nationality, and any display of 'concern' that is selective only confirms the disingenousness of that expression.

I agree with you fully, by the way, that this is the most dangerous conflict to have flared up in years, but that does not mean I'm joining in the 'daily hate' on all things Russian.
