Ukraine is of geo-strategic to Russia; it is only of interest to US/NATO insofar as it can be used as a tool for poking the Bear. To use a well-worn and tired analogy, what if Russia was arming the Mexican government to take back Texas and California? NATO has no cause at all to be in Ukraine.
